How to be Authentic

Being your Authentic Self with Valerie Silidker

Psychosynthesis is spiritual or transpersonal psychology that’s been around for over 100 years that was developed by a psychiatrist named Dr. Roberto Assagioli. He and Abraham Maslow are known as the grandfathers of transpersonal work. Psychosynthesis brings together science and psychology of who we are as humans and the spiritual. The recognition that who we are is more than our thoughts, more than our emotions, more than the stories that we tell or we try to live into, more than the roles that we play. We are human having these experiences, we want to go deep into these experiences and we are interconnected and interdependent with life on profound levels.

The most fundamental question when we explore is the question “Who am I?”

How do we really connect and reconnect to life in the deepest context? Because if we can remember who we are at that deepest level, it transforms everything we are, everything that we do, and the choices we make. So psychosynthesis is this beautiful way of bringing together psychology and spirituality to create a more whole YOU.

“We have a soul that’s so much more than people, places, circumstances, and events.”

Transpersonal. It is working on the personal self, the center point of awareness and will. From that space of the self, we begin to form a relationship with our inner world. To form that relationship with the contents of our consciousness which are always changing. We're learning to work from that space to create more integration within us.

Psychosynthesis is evolutionary psychology. It is the evolution of our own being whether we are conscious of it or not.  There is always a movement. If we will learn how this consciousness works within us, it will then allow us to consciously accelerate our own personal evolution and because it’s not just on the level of the individual, it is also looking at our collective evolution as each one of us becomes more self-aware and more aware of our will we begin to live more authentically aligned with who we are. We then begin to contribute on larger levels to the collective evolutionary movement of our world.

Don’t disassociate with whatever you’re feeling. This is very important to the development of one’s soul. You can hold that grief, joy, pain, sadness, you can honor those emotions, experience them, learn from them, and evolve with the experience of it. By going deeper into our human experiences, we become more connected to the whole in the soul.

“We can choose how we identify, we can choose how we develop and allow our personality to unfold.”
