May 21, 2021

American Hustle and so many other great shows, Elisabeth Rohm is going to be appearing in Starling, an upcoming film directed by Ted Melfi, the Oscar nominated director for Hidden Figures. Before the pandemic she s“As I'm sheltering in place, they will not forget that I can act.” After acting on Law and Order, Angel, Jane the Virgin, Ahot two movies that were ready to go and she’s also written a book called Baby Steps about her journey to motherhood.

Beyond being an actress and author, Elisabeth is also a screenwriter. Her respect for her colleagues runs deep, “When I look at people like directors or screenwriters, I have such respect for them.” She wrote a screenplay over the pandemic and waits on pins and needles for feedback, she recounts with endearing relatability and the vulnerability of a true artist.

Educated at a boarding school, Elisabeth continued on at Sarah Lawrence to pursue her creative dreams. She approached this phase with wide eyed idealism, explaining, “following your bliss was an imprint that I felt at that time, at 18, this earnestness, to be purposeful in life, and to sort of stand naked in front of the world and bury yourself, in a sense with all your heart and soul to what make a difference to make an impact to love fully, to be brave, to draw outside of the lines.”

In the same way, she sees the opportunity in what the world has gone through over the course of the pandemic, reflecting, “in this moment, I think this is a really great opportunity and invitation to become more grounded than we've ever become.”

As an actor, an author and a screenwriter, Elisabeth sees the opportunity where the world can rebuild from this place of grief and write a new story about what the world could look like moving forward, as the world opens up and people spring back to the business of life again as if prompted by the words, “Lights, camera, action!”
