Focusing On You

How to Stay in your Lane?

How to Stay in your Lane?!

It’s okay to help but know that sometimes helping others is not helping you.

Release yourself from carrying other people’s burden that is not yours to carry. Prioritize your energy, learning other people’s issues is solely theirs. You can still be supportive but allow people to carry their own baggage.

“Everyone has their own lane, maintain yours.. There’s less traffic and no speed limit.” - Unknown

Don’t COMPARE and DESPAIR!

Give people the dignity of their own path.

There is no timetable that we must follow when it comes to success or goals or plans. Who’s early? Who is late? Who’s successful already? Who’s not? Trust your process. You’ll get there when you’re supposed to be there. Don’t start comparing your phase to others, there is no competition to see who comes first in this life. Follow your own phase because it’s YOUR schedule and it’s YOUR time.

Everyone has differences. Everyone has their own struggles, hurdles and difficulties. It's all different. What they struggle with may not be like what you're struggling with. Your path is YOUR path and they have theirs. Start looking forward and keep looking forward, don’t look back and compare because again, they are in their own lanes and you are exactly in your own lane.

True freedom and true happiness comes in when we start focusing on ourselves because we can only control ourselves and we can only really control our next indicated action which is where we’re going next. Focus on your next steps or you will trip.

As a recovering codependent, I wasted so much time and energy trying to rescue people.

As I feel the need to take care of other people, I have missed taking care of myself.

Because I was so focused on someone else and putting them first I had missed that I am important too. But right now, I have seen the beauty in giving your focus to yourself.

Self love is not selfish

It’s so much easier when I just stay in my own lane and take the next indicated action.

I don’t look back and beat myself up anymore.

I am focused on my goals and enjoying the journey.

Your challenge for the weekend is to catch yourself wanting to judge or reform someone and to accept them exactly as they are.

Then focus back on your own badass self!
